Description

Let's take advantage of the last opening days of the hut https://www.kemptner-huette.de/ and also the Bergsteigerbus.

The peak is comparably one of the easiest reachable from the hut but due to snow conditions things may get complicated. We will decide at the hut. Even if we will not reach the peak, the route up to the hut should be interesting incl the Eistunnel . There is also a waterfall to visit near the hut.

Not for beginners. Due to snow the route may feel tiring! If your profile is rather empty but you are not a beginner, immediately after joining you need to PM me explaining your experience.


Good to know

We will take the early train to Obersdorf over Buchloe and then the bus to Spielmannsau (bus ride 20min only)

The last bus according to the site here https://www.mona-allgaeu.de/fileadmin/user_upload/Linien/SOA/Linie_08.pdf

is 18:10. In case we will miss it, we will take a taxi.

Please bring

  • Gaiters and spikes (non-negotiable!)
  • Tolerance for bit of rain
  • Cash for the Bayern ticket, bus which is extra, hut (optionally) and taxi (just in case, it costs 22Euro for 4ppl)
  • Drink/ food - only on the way back we will spend time at the hut

Be on time else you will buy the train ticket on your own!

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

My S-Bahn arrives in the tunnel at 5:35 a.m. It's 5:40 a.m. by the time I'm up at platform 31. Is that OK for the group ticket?

Be careful in Trettachtal by the way. Above Kemptner hutte the situation was marked as Dangerous from Allgäu few days ago and Heilbronnerweg closed due to avalanxhe risk
