The Rotwand ("Red Wall") is a 1,884 m high peak in the Mangfall Mountains in Bavaria, the highest summit in the Spitzingsee region and one of the most popular of Munich's local mountains (Hausberge). We will also visit mountain lake Soinsee. The lake lies in a deep basin-shaped valley formed by glacier ice. This beautiful mountain lake, which has an area of around five hectares, can only be reached on foot: there is neither a public road nor a cable-car to this remote spot.
