Description

It looks like friday is the last day without raining/snowing I want to make this beautiful tour on friday after work.

Technical difficulty: The hike has technical difficulty: T4 (I). Please read the blog to understand the requirements for T4 SAC scale. This hike is not for beginners. I would like to have medium pace.

Things to bring:

  • Waterproof hiking boots and rain jacket just in case
  • Cash for the ride
  • Passport/ID
  • Food/drinks for the way
  • Headlamp as we might go down in the dark
  • Hiking poles
  • Face mask

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.

Good to know

Tauern is a 1.841m mountain in Tyrol situated between the beautiful lakes Plansee and Heiterwanger See. Since the mountain looks like a ship in the lakes it’s also called MS Tauern by the locals. The views during the hike are breathtaking and described as hiking like in Norway because the long lakes surrounded by iconic mountains looks like Fjords. I would like to make one more peak Schönjöchl If we have enought time before sunset and have good tempo.

If you are not sure about whether you can go to Austria for Tyrol is Risikogebiet, check this link: https://www.vbw-bayern.de/vbw/ServiceCenter/Corona-Pandemie/Ausgangsbeschr%C3%A4nkungen-Reisen-Transport/Quarantane-bei-Ein-und-Ruckreise-nach-Deutschland.jsp

You can go to Risikogebiet for less than 48 hours without making a test or isolating. Still we will try to keep distance and take care.

We will meet at the starting point of the hike and then return to the same point. I will drive through Rosenheim, Bad Tölz, Oberau, Garmish so I can pick you up at these points. Message me for more details.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to message me. Also here is my telephone number: 015201008670

Thanks and see you there!
