Achtung!

Going to the mountains, like any other adventure tours, is always risky; sometimes, it might be life-threatening! Attendees are advised to read the full description in toto, look into the route details, and to make it familiarise themselves to the point that as if they are going to hike on their own. If there is any unwanted and unfortunate incident happened, they are at this moment informed that they have to pay by themselves if the rescue team needs to be called (average cost 3,000 Euro). We are certainly not official guides, so it is not a guided tour. The organizer is only responsible for taking care of the meeting and sharing the travel cost, nothing else!

You can actually avoid entering Tyrol on the descending from Arnspitze. After Arnspitzhuette there is an alternative path down that stays inside Germany, it's called the "Haselrinne", see for example this report on hikr.org: https://www.hikr.org/tour/post37715.html. It's a long gully that runs slightly to the left of the marked path after Arnspitzhuette. The Haselrinne is not a marked path, but very easy to follow because you just continue in a straight line through the gully next to a rock wall on the left. We took this route last year, when we went down straight to Mittenwald instead of Scharnitz to save the extra ticket cost.
