Let's enjoy the Golden October on a long march to Taubenberg, one of the highest hills near Munich (896m) with panoramic views from a watch tower, and the beautiful Mangfall valley along the Mangfall river on sunny Sunday.

Start and endpoint (Holzkirchen, Kreuzstrasse) are within MVV area (Zone M- 3). The hike will take about 6-8h.

Please note the change to winter time on Sunday. 7:00 equals 8:00 summer/biological time.

We will split into subgroups of 5 persons, one of them probably a slower group starting earlier. Send me a PM if you want to co-organize it.

Route: The route is rather long, but without technical difficulties and with very little elevation gain.

Technical Difficulty: This hike is suitable for fit hikers, exercising sports regularly (e.g., hiking, running, biking), which are able to move 7h continously. We will walk fast due to the long distance and short day. You should be able to maintain a pace of about 6km/h in the flat parts for hours. Good shoes and stamina are required. We probably wont stop at a restaurant, nor will we make longer breaks.

Transport: We'll use S-Bahn (S3 7:14 to Holzkirchen, return via Meridian to Holzkirchen, or S7 Kreuzstrasse to Munich). The group meets on Ostbahnhof and shares group day tickets for up to 5 persons each (M3, total cost of 19,6€) and uses the first wagon. (I might the group on the way in Unterhaching)

Every participant must be able to navigate her/himself on the suggested route.
