There’s a break in the rain forecasted tomorrow around lunchtime, so hopefully there should be enough time to fit a century ride in! I’ve found some good hills over to the south-east of Munich to explore.
While the whole route is around 100 km, there are several MVG stations on the way for cutting the ride short. I’ll be on a road bike, but feel free to bring whatever bike you can provided you can comfortably keep up 22-25 km/h on flat asphalt. Please contact me (WA/FB) if you’re coming, otherwise I may change the time or reroute and miss you.
Route
The Strava route I’ll be following is 101.8 km, with 922 m ascent. I’ll be coming from Giesing, but Neuperlach Zentrum is the last station I’ll pass in the city. From there we follow the road towards Putzbrunn (initially a cycle path on the pavement, and then a segregated bi-directional track). We join the main road to Oberpframmern, then turn onto narrower lanes to Moosach and Lorenzenberg, and down to Aßling*. We then have lots of ups and downs to get to Feldkirchen, followed by a final two big ascents after crossing the Mangfall twice. Back on bigger roads, we follow the cycle track to Holzkirchen*, Otterfing and Sauerlach, then after a short section on the main road we turn onto a quieter road through the forest to Oberhaching*Deisenhofen. Finally, we return to Munich through Perlacher Forest, arriving at Mangfallplatz*.
* station with connections to Munich, inside the MVG area.

Make your own way to Neuperlach Zentrum, or add a comment below if you’d like to share a group ticket. I will be cycling to the start.
