Untouched landscapes and memorable views of Lake Eibsee and mighty mountain peaks including Germany's highest point, the Zugspitze.
Your adventure in the Eibsee-Zugspitze region is close at hand. When hiking the Eibsee loop trail, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking 360° view of the lake in just 1:45 hours. We start from the parking spot at Eibsee then proceed with a walking around the whole lake in a loop and then head towards the Hohes Egg.
Going to the peak (Hohes Egg) is optional. The current trail is round the Hohes Egg and back to the parking spot.
Technical difficulty: The hiking trail is not difficult. There are no paths where you need special equipment (except for good hiking boots). You just need to enjoy hiking and cracking jokes. Be prepared to come with a full encyclopedia of fun facts. Just kidding.
What to bring:
Fitness requirements: You need to have regular experience with T3+ trails.
Note: Only join if you are sure you can participate. Unjoin the event well in advance, if you cannot make it. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours. Not showing up in time without a reasonable excuse will lead to a no-show entry in your profile. I reserve the right to refuse participation to climbers with a no-show history or insufficient track record.
Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
COVID-19 Blurb: Do you join if you have any symptoms or feel you may have been in contact with a positive recently. Be responsible. Act respectfully.
We drive by car from Munich to Eibsee and first do the panoramic tour around Eibsee and then head towards the Hohes Egg (Grainau). Depending on how we do on time, we either go to the peak of Hohes Egg or walk around it and head back to the Parkplatz.
Since we have the flexibility of a car, you need to bear in mind that it may be dark while heading down. Therefore, a headlamp is mandatory.
