Krottenkopf is the highest Mountain in the area so there is a fantastic view. The hike is planned as a round tour from Oberau. After the ascent to Hoher Fricken, there are only minor inclines to the next mountains Bischof and Krottenkopf. Shortly before Krottenkopf there is the Weilheim hut which serves food and drinks but it does not open in January! Please bring food and drinks yourself!

We meet at Munich Hbf in front of track 27 and buy a Werdenfels ticket (about 15 Euros per person). The train leaves at 6:32. I would like to have a pace of about 400 to 450 hm so we need between 9 and 10 hours for the tour. Trains go back at 17:15, 18:15 (or 19:15 Uhr).

There will be plenty of snow, please bring spikes. The way up is easier than the way back. In case of difficult conditions, we might go the same way down. It’s a long tour. Please join only in case you have experiences with comparable tours (snow and +1500 hm). If this is not obvious from your profile, please contact me in advance.

What to bring:

• Spikes
• Headlamp
• Fully charged GPS-capable cell phone with the route saved
• Money for the train ticket + face mask
• It’s cold, please dress appropriately

Note: Only join if you are sure you can participate. Unjoin the event well in advance, if you cannot make it. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours. Not showing up in time without a reasonable excuse will lead to a no-show entry in your profile. I reserve the right to refuse participation to hikers with a no-show history or insufficient track record.
