Description

Maximum participants: 10

Meeting point: Munich HBF, in front of platform 27

Meeting time: Sunday, 7:30 am (07:30)

Public transport: We will take RB 59613 from Munich at 7:59 am, which will arrive at Kochel at 9:08 am. Then we take Bus 9608 to Gh. Post/Cafe Kranzbach, Krün. This is the start point of our hike. The hike ends at Isar-Seinsbrucke.  We start at Gh. Post/Cafe Kranzbach toward Feldernkreuz (2048 m), then we turn right to reach Feldernkopf (2071 m), Soiernschneid (2174 m) and finally, we climb up to Soiernspitze (2253 m).

From there we have two options. (we might split).

Option 1. From Soiernspitze we come back to a point called Karwendel und Karwendelvorgebirge from there we turn right and reach Soiernhaus (It's closed though) through the Soiernsee doublets.

Option 2. (Optional) Fast group (I am hoping that Maston and Sohaib will love it). We turn right and continue toward Hirzeneck (1803 m) but just before reaching to the peak we turned left and go to Gumpenkarspitze (2010 m), and then reached to Soiernhaus (Its closed though).  It will make the trip 2-3 km longer.

From Soiernhaus we turn back to Feldernkopf (2071 m) via Schottelkarspitze (2050 m) from where we turn left and reach to Isar-Seinsbrucke, the end point of our hike.

The last bus is at 18:54 if we miss that we might need to walk to Mittenwald or take a taxi. Last direct train from Mittenwald to Munich is at 21:36.

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T4 (mostly T3 though). Please read the blog by Thomas to understand the requirement for T4 sac scale. In general, this is not suitable for beginners, and you should have some fitness to make more than 20 Km and 2000 m gain without many problems.

The hut is closed so please bring your own food/drinks.

Things to bring:

Hiking boots.

Hiking Poles,

Some food and drinks for the way.

Cash for the ticket

Warm clothes..rain jacket, depending on the weather

Headlamp

Most importantly a smiling face and a happy vibe.

Note: Please don’t join the hike if you want to come back early or if you don’t like to be photographed: P.  Please unjoin the event well in advance if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
