Königsstand is a scenic viewpoint in the Ammergau Alps with a great view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The path is easy. There are two sligthly exposed passages, but they are wide enough that even people who otherwise avoid exposed places should not have any difficulties here.
We will likely follow a just slightly different route as described here: https://www.hoehenrausch.de/berge/koenigsstand/
The weather forecast for Saturday looks good. There should not be much snow left from the last days at this altitude, if any.
We are 2 people from the same household going by public transportation (direct train connection, ~70-80 minutes)
We are flexible regarding both, the outward as well as the return journey timing.
Following the COVID-19 rules - one more person is welcome to join.
On the way down we could grab something to-go from the St. Martinshütte (if open).
We will take the train to Mittenwald from Haupbahnhof, our destination is Garmisch-Partenkichen. Please be in front of platform 33 latest at 08:00, so that we have enough time to buy a ticket together.
