Brief Description of the Tour :
An easy-medium tour that will let you enjoy a great view from the top of the Ammergauer, Tannheimer, Lechtaler and Allgäu mountains, as well as the views down to Füssen and the Tannheimer Tal and Forgensee lake.
Reaching the start point: From Munich, once take regional train to Kempten, and then another regional train from there to Pfronten-Ried. An SEV bus takes you from there to Pfronten-Steinach, which is the start and end point of this hike.
The regio allgäu schwaben ticket is the best option to reach there, and is even cheaper than Bayern ticket.
Ascent: The route is very well marked. From the cable car station, the path starts by crossing a field, and then merges into a wide road. Continue along this road until you see a signpost for Aggnestein. Turn right from here (Note that there are two signposts for Aggnestein - one before and one after the stream, we took the second one). Continue along this route until you reach Reichenbachklamm. From here the path becomes narrow and steep, and always along the klamm. The path ends into a wide road, which we cross and continue straight along a gentle slope. After merging back into the wide road, we follow it until the signpost, where we turn left, and continue along a zig zag path to Bad kissinger huette. From the hut, the path is flat for 100m or so, and then becomes steep along a zig zag. The last few meters are secured with a cable.
Descent: Come down from the peak until the cable section is over. From here instead of going down, turn left and traverse a bit. Then, we go down on the other side of the mountain along a zig zag, which leads all the way to a plateau. Walk until the station for ski lift, and then descent from there to the cable car station. The route is along a wide road, however one needs to be a bit careful as there are a few turns which should not be missed, otherwise you will reach the same path which we took for ascent. The final part is more like a shortcut in a forest, and could be slippery in wet conditions. This however, can be avoided by continuing along the wide road all the way.
