Description

This is more a social event than a hike, and therefore open to everyone. Make sure to read the whole description below.

Route: Starting from a parking (click here to see in Maps) in Kochel, it's only 400m elevation over 2km  before reaching the point where we will watch the sunset from. It'll be slow pace, and we will have time for having dinner up there (about 1h30) before going down. The point where we stop to watch the sunset has a lot of space, enough for 20 people while being able to keep a reasonable distance between each other if needed.

What to bring: While a headlamp is always mandatory for sunset hikes, anything else is optional (hiking poles, water, food). I would recommend to take max. 1 liter of water. For that particular hike, you should bring food to share with everyone. :)

Pace: Everyone can join. We will be staying together until reaching the view point, that'll take about 45mn.

COVID: There's no restriction as Kochel & Munich are both under 50 (map here). Bring your mask though in case your carpool passengers prefer wearing one.

Please: No cigarettes, and no trash left, no fire.

Schedule

  • 18h30: Drivers & passengers meet. @Passengers: Consider arriving 5 minutes before the indicated time to play safe. You can see the time you have to meet via the carpool button
  • 19h30: All cars arrive at the parking and we start hiking
  • 20h30: We arrive at the view point.
  • 21h00: Sunset
  • 21h45: Going down
  • 22h30: Parking
  • 23h30: Munich

Carpool - Explanations

Drivers are welcome to add their cars as long as the limit of participants has not been reached.

Passengers in my car

  • Meeting time is indicated in the carpool page (green button at the top). Meeting point is in front of Holiday Inn West at Hirschgarten (Google Maps link)
  • Fuel prepayment: Please Paypal me the amount indicated in the Carpool page the day before the event. Not earlier, because of potential uncertainty regarding weather forecasts (on possible cancellation of the hike), and not later to avoid last minute drop outs. You can either use Paypal (paypal.me/jallard1) or ask me for my IBAN. Paypal is preferred.
  • It's a BMW Gran Tourer Grey (6 seats).

Passengers in other cars need to refer to the info given by the driver in the Carpool page.
