Hi,

as my Zugspitze-plans were cancelled, I wanted to invite you to join me on an alternative hike to Gehrenspitze and Predigstuhl.


What is so nice and special about this hike? 
a) we are going to stay in a very nice and small hut (not DAV, independent)
b) the hut is positioned after around 2h of ascend the first day, which means that you can leave some of your stuff there for the rest of the day
c) there are two nice peaks involved, both somewhat more challenging, but both optional if the need arises

We will be getting there by train to Mittenwald/Seefield and then change for a bus, return the same, just a different bus to Mittenwald/Reutte

Day 1 going up to Wettersteinhütte, then Gehrenspitze, descend back to the hut

Day 2 Following the path over to Predigstuhl, descend back into the valley, some food at the hut if there is still enough time for us to catch the bus. Return to Munich most likely late (9-10pm)

#1 Update - I changed the time of the event for a shorter waiting time in Seefield - there should be around 25 min waiting time - just enough to grab a roll for your breakfast ;-) Please be on time!

Good to know

Cost for staying at the hut - €30-35 including Breakfast, Food/Drinks (dinner) excluded, please bring cash. Additionally to the Bayern ticket, there will be a cost of a couple of € each way for the bus. Please note on the way there no Bayern Ticket allowed unfortunately :-(

hi Artur, I guess you may already know - but if you are going to Seefeld - why not get the Werdenfelsticket + Insbruck one? it covers Bayern and the part of Tirol you need to reach? buses of course are a different story and they cost about 3.90€ per way. ÖBB app is really great for checking prices and tickets on the fly - I can recommend :)

Weather update - it seems to me that we will get the 2 nicest days this week ;-) Friday we may get a little rain, saturday should be clear but not too hot - please note the temperatures 10-25° - you'll need something warmer to put on, especially in the evening and early.
