Description

Hello weekend!  Well, almost.. :)

So the weather looks good for a hike to Seefelder spitze on Saturday, dry, 10 to 12 C on the peak, in the valley about 20`C so be sure to dress accordingly.

It will rain the day before a bit, and the rain is expected after 7pm on Saturday, but by then we should be long on our way back to Munich ;)

So I'd like to check out Seefelder Spitze and also stop at Nördlinger Hut on the way down and chillax for max an hour up there near the ridge, enjoying the view over Karwendel because i have a soft spot for Karwendel mountain range :))

Pace would be around 400 - 500 hm gain/h, so a moderate one. Also being surefooted, no fear of heights and a good fitness level is a must. You get extra points for good vibes and positive mood :)

This is also not a beginner type of a hike.

Webcam so you can check the view yourself and have an idea where we heading :

If the weather changes, I might postpone of cancel the hike.

Here are some organisational details:

Meeting point: We are meeting at Munic Hbf in front of Pl 27 at 6:15 AM. Please be on time because we need to get the ticket. If you are not on time, you will have to get your own ticket.

Train connections: We will take the RB6 at 06.32 am to GaP and change to S6 to Innsbruck and arrive at Seefeld in Tirol at 08:45.

Return: Plan is to take the return connection at 16.04, 17.15 or the latest 18.04.

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T4, please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T4. Sure footedness and no fear of height is required

Things to bring:

  • Hiking boots
  • hiking poles are optional
  • Cash for the train ride (10-15 EUR)
  • Cash for the hut, if you plan to have something at the hut on way down
  • Passport/ID
  • FFP2 mask for the train and hut
  • Covid related documents for border crossing  (3G - neg.tested, vaccinated or recovered)
  • Food/drinks for the way (1.5L water at least and snacks. It is about 6 hour hike depending on the group's pace. You won't starve but getting low sugar levels and being a tad moody probably won't make you the favourite buddy so bring enough water and snacks with ya to fuel you :) )
  • Proper Clothes - please think in layers ( onion principle i.e. have next to t-shirt a rain/wind jacket if it gets cold when cooling down and taking a break)
  • Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and a hat is recommended
  • first aid kit
  • downloaded gpx track to your phone, just in case.

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
