Description

This is slow pace and short hike ending with a sunset swim in Schliersee. It is open to everyone, no matter your experience in hiking. Make sure to read the whole description below.


What to bring: At least water is mandatory for beginners (1L). If you have a headlamp. bring it. If you don't have one, it's fine. No cigarettes, no trash, no fire.

Pace: Slow. Everyone can join. We will be staying together the whole time.

COVID: There's no restriction as long as under 50 Inzidenz (map here). Bring your mask though, necesary for the Biergarten.

Schedule

  • 18h15: Drivers & passengers meet. @Passengers: Consider arriving 5 minutes before the indicated time to play safe. You can see the time you have to meet via the carpool button. Look at the instructions given by your driver if any.
  • 19h30: Parking / Start hiking
  • 20h30: Peak
  • 21h00: Lake and chill (it's near the parking), up to the drivers and passengers when to leave

Carpool - Explanations

Drivers are welcome to add their cars as long as the limit of participants has not been reached.

Passengers in my car

  • Meeting time is indicated in the carpool page (green button at the top). Meeting point is in front of Holiday Inn West at Hirschgarten (Google Maps link)
  • Fuel prepayment: Please Paypal me the amount indicated in the Carpool page the day before the event. Not earlier, because of potential uncertainty regarding weather forecasts (on possible cancellation of the hike), and not later to avoid last minute drop outs. You can either use Paypal (paypal.me/jallard1) or ask me for my IBAN. Paypal is preferred.
  • It's a BMW Gran Tourer Grey (6 seats).

Passengers in other cars need to refer to the info given by the driver in the Carpool page.

Passengers in my car: I forgot there's France playing on Monday (21h00). Since I don't want to miss it and that I don't want to postpone the hike, I'll watch the game in some Biergarten at Schliersee. Join my car only if you're good with that! We'll be back in Munich at +-23h30.

After calling 15 different places yesterday, the only place with a TV is fully booked. Ending up watching the game while swimming!

I encourage everyone to bring a some food / drinks, as we'll spend quite some time on the beach. Each car can decide when they'll leave, but some of us will stay until 23h. Also bring a jacket, it's not that warm in the night there.
