Description

Event will be postponed if rainy. Earlky start is to avoid the heat & crowd. This is a speedhiking event. If you see available seats the day before and want to join for something more relaxed on your own / with friends, feel free to contact me. Only condition is to be on time at the parking based on the schedule below.

Route: I've never done Alpspitze during all those years in Munich, time has come! I chose to discover all possible ways at once, which includes two via ferratas (Mathaisenkar (C) & Nordwandsteig (B)). This will be combined with trail running downhills. We start early, aiming to be back in Munich at 14h00. I read that via ferratas are snow free.

Schedule

  • 04h15: Leaving from Munich, by car. Meeting point for passengers in my car: Hirschgarten, Holiday Inn hotel (Friedenheimer Brücke 15).
  • 05h00: Start (speed)hiking
  • 08h30: Alpspitze #1 up from Mathaisenkar (via ferrata C) and down via Ostflanke (T3)
  • 11h00: Alpspitze #2 up from Nordwandsteig (via ferrata B) and down via Ostgrat (T3)
  • 13h00: Parking
  • 14h00: Munich

Pace: >= 700m gain / hour uphills, and slow run down hills.

Gear: Helmet, klettersteig set, trail running shoes

Before joining, make sure of the following:

  • If you haven't joined any of my events in the past, fill in this form: Click here to access the Google form
  • You must be able to navigate without my help in case we decide to split. Have either an app on your phone, or a GPS watch.
  • Have a headlamp
  • Be at the car 5 mn earlier than the indicated time
