Description

Very good weather forecast for Saturday, hence a tour that starts and finishes at beautiful Hintersteiner See. Swimming is planned for after the hike. 

The hike itself is demanding but not too difficult. It officially includes a Klettersteig but most online sources say equipment is not required expect helmet. Do bring your Ferrata equipment if you feel safer with it.

You need to be fit and certainly with no fears from heights. No beginners please


Bring plenty of liquids and food, however we will stop at one of the huts before the most demanding part of the route starts.

I'll be driving and happy to have another car come along.

please remember the 3G rule for Austria.....not so much when we are entering the country (there's hardly any control anymore) but more when we visit a Hütte , restaurant etc. Even outside 3G is now required. Hi Christopher, I had a question regarding your plan for Saturday. Have you done this route before? Because I have never done via Ferrata before and according to gpx file it’s B scale and very steep ascending towards the peak. Is it possible to do it without via Ferrata set or should I rent one from DAV? Thanks!
