No beginners (Minimum 1500 points or get in touch with me if you think you have the experience but only recently joined HB). Only really fit and experienced hikers.
There is snow looks like 10cm...that ain't gonna stop us just bring the right equipment and expect it to be cold.
It is time for my Zugspitze hike. We are meeting at the Platform 27 at 5:20 and take the first train to Ehrwald. Please be on time as we only have 10 minutes before the train leaves.
7:30 we start the hike from Ehrwald station, via the Stopselzieher. This is an easy via ferrata (A/B), I would still recommend you to take the via ferrata set. And we take the way down via Gatterl. This is a long hike so I intend to do a reasonable pace but no running, between 450- 500hm per hour.
The hike is 12,5 hours and we have 14 until the last train. There are trains at 7:30 and 9:30, I guess we should make one of them. If we are running late we can also consider cutting it short by taking the ehrwalder almbahn down.
In terms of food and water we are passing the Wiener- Neustätter- Hütte before the Stopselzieher and the Knorrhütte and Ehrwalder Alm on the way down. Münchner Haus on the top is closed the rest of the summer. We should stop at least at 1-2 of the huts to refuel, I suggest you still bring some food with you, because I don't think we have time for really long breaks at the huts.
Obviously this is weather dependant and if the forecast isn't good enough we will push it out one more week. This will be decided Friday afternoon and if the even isn't cancelled by 3-4ish it will definitely take place. Also if anyone actually wants to offer their car get in touch with me, coz that would make us much more flexible.
You need a dumb test to cross the border.

Going to the mountains, like any other adventure tours, is always risky; sometimes it might be life-threatening! Attendees are advised to read the full description, look into the route details and familiarise themselves to the point that as if they are going to hike by their own.
If there is any unwanted and unfortunate incident happened, they are at this moment informed that they have to pay by themselves if the rescue team needs to be called (average cost 3,000 Euro). We are certainly not official guides, so it is not a guided tour. The organizer is only responsible for taking care of the meeting and sharing the travel cost, nothing else
