What to expect
This will be a chill hike, meaning that the tempo will be not that fast. Something like 300 height meters per hour, give or take a bit. In addition, expect us to spend quite a bit of time at the lake at the peak so that those of use who want can go swimming also in case the hut is open, then expect us to spend some time there as well and if there is interest, possibility and time, then we might eat at Ehrwald after the hike.
The duration of the hike will depend highly on what are the groups preferences.
I am aiming to at the latest catch the train leaving at 17:30 which would arrive in Munich around 19:30.
We might be back significantly earlier, but this is what you should be ready in case you join the hike.
Looking forward to seeing you guys and let's have an awesome hike.
The hike is in Austria, that means All travelers need to show either a negative COVID test or proof of vaccination/past infection upon entry. (You might also want to bring an ID card or equivelant)
If you will be arriving after 06:55 please let me know in advance. You can contact me through Whatsapp
(015252736544). We will be buying Bayern tickets (around 13 euros per person) at 7:00 so if you are late and do not notify me then you have to buy your own ticket.
The train leaves at 7:13 and reaches Ehrwald Zugspitzbahn at 8:53. The train station is around 2.4 km away from the starting point of the hike. We might be able to take a bus to get to a throwing distance of the starting point, but I can not guarantee that.
The route has technical sections, so it will not fit beginner hikers or people who are not comfortable with heights. I expect to find completed level T4 hikes on your profile, or 3 or more T3 hikes. If you do not have those, then on joining write me a message explaining your previous experience, otherwise I will remove you from the hike.
NB! Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide, and everybody joining this hike does this at his own risk.
