Description

Even if you think the event suits you, please read all the information below before joining. A short hike can be much harder than a long one, depending on the pace, the steepness, the weather.

❶ MEETING PLACE / TIME & COST

We will go by train, meeting at 07:10 am (at the latest) near Munich Central Station, Platform 29. Please bring between 9 and 14 euros (incl. coins) depending on the number of participants.

❷ WHERE & FOR WHOM

This route is rated as T2 for the hardest parts. To know more about SAC Scale and its meaning, please refer to our blog: https://www.hiking-buddies.com/blog/2018/07/02/sac-hiking-scale.

Beginner friendly. Route technically easy, no scrambling expected, everyone is free to join. No hiking experience is required. Though, hiking being a sport, don't consider my hikes as relaxing walks in the forest - you have to sweat!

❸ GEAR & ACCESSORIES

In winter season, it's crucial having proper clothing (warm clothes, gloves, etc). Please don't come with some random city jacket for example. Also, you have to bring a headlamp, suncream, your passport, an extra battery for your phone in case of emergency and a first aid kit. 2 liters of water are generally enough, and bring enough food to be self sufficient even if there's a hut. Hiking poles are significantly helpful in case of ascent in snow.

❹ A FEW RULES

By joining this event, you must agree to a few ground rules:

- Give everything you've got in your legs.

- Be on time at the meeting point.

- Be repectful and polite towards every participants.

- No show / cancellation within 12h before the event = a "no show" mention in your profile.

- Possibility for the event to be cancelled until 24h before the start (mainly because of the weather).

- Your participation might be refused if I consider that you don't have enough experience for such a route.

- Stick to the group while in the mountains.

- bring all gear mentioned in the description.

- Keep the nature clean.

- Don't smoke.

❺ GROUP SPIRIT

Hiking Buddies has to be considered as a group of friends spending a good time in the mountains. Organisers are someone like you who doesn't want to go hiking alone. They spend a significant amount of time looking for a route, taking care of choosing the right transportation, checking the weather, if huts are open, etc. For that reason you should be respectful and patient towards them. Also, don't join if you have plans after the hike - you never know what can happen (accidents, slow group, delayed train) and we could get back to Munich later than expected.

Oh, and remember - Hiking Buddies wouldn't be that great without those brave organisers. So don't just join events, and go for it, create events yourself! I'm sure you won't end up going alone!
