Description

Ruchenkopf is the name for a 1805 meter high mountain with a long, distinctive ridge, which has several ridge elevations, and is located in the Schliersee Mountains, part of the Mangfall Mountains, in Bavaria.

The simplest ascent, often used as a descent, leads past the Bergwachthütte (Bergwacht München) first through a mountain pine belt and then steeply and not marked partly on a path with climbing points in difficulty level I through the chive gutter and partly exposed over the eastern summit ridge to the summit cross Book (surefootedness, a head for heights and climbing skills required); the west ridge is considered to be more attractive (difficulty level III (heavier spots with a stand hook), also not marked, very exposed) Danger from orientation problems.

Good to know
I am a moderate speed hiker that with one of my friend arranged this event. We are not professional hikers or guides, so you join based on your own experience and we follow path and info provided on route(we take no responsibility).

We are neither fast hikers nor slow, so event can be boring for you, if you like fast hiking, we will go on moderate speed. Also if you are beginner, because it is a bit long and a bit hard on top, can be tedious for you.

We want to stay 1 hour on top, to eat, enjoy the view and take some photos and videos. so please consider this point also.

We plan to take BRB RB55 at 7:30 on Saturday toward Geitea(as mnetioned in route description), so we should be present around 7:10 by the ticket machines near platform 34 of München HBF. Please consider any possible latencies in public transport Ubahn SBahn on weekend.

What you need to have(as you are somehow intermediate hiker, I just mention them):

·      Proper hiking boots

·      First aid kid

·      Water (2l-3l)

·      Hiking poles(maybe)

·      Waterproofs (jacket, trousers, bag cover, pancho) - maybe it rains or becomes cold, who knows

·      Hat, Sun glasses and sun cream, ID Card

.       Good mood :) (or if you are depressed, ok, come, we will try to make some fun and make you happy)
