What to expect
This will be a relaxed hike, meaning that the tempo will be not that fast. In addition, expect us to spend quite a bit of time at the lake (picture taking, Yoga, if you feel like it: even swimming!). Also I plan for lunch at Seebenalm (Hut next to lake - should be open - take some snacks along just in case!).
The duration of the hike will depend highly on what are the groups preferences.
The route has technical sections, so it will NOT fit BEGINNER hikers or people who are not comfortable with heights. If your HB profike doens't indicate previous hiking experience beyond T2, then on joining write me a message explaining your previous experience, otherwise I might remove you from the hike.
TRAVELLING TO STARTING POINT:
Either via Car or train.
I will add my car to carpool - 3 pax can join. Departure 8:00 am should mean we can arrive at destination at 9:30 am. If you will drive, please add your car to carpool!
Travelling by train. Train is leaving at 07:32 am sharp from Munich Main. If you want to take train, check also on carpool page. Either add train trip like you would add a car, or join an existing group (sharing BayernTicket). I suggest you meet at 7:15 then. You will arrive about 9:24 Ehrwald City. This is 2.4 km away from staring point - either some friendly car drivers from the trip will shuttle you or ... we'll see :-)
Someone from my car will be in contact with you during arrival to coordinate.
Meeting Point in Austria: Parking Lot Ehrwalder Almbahn.
Address: Dr. Ludwig Ganghoferstr 66, 6632 Ehrwald, Österreich
Exact meeting point: https://goo.gl/maps/3gSYU2T35kKgeBi8A (at electric car charing point)
DEPARTURE:
Latest about 5 pm from Ehrwald.
For my car, I plan an enroute dinner at beergarden (probably in Garmisch-Patenkirchen) if ma jority is OK with this in my car. Benefit: less traffic afterwards back to Munich + enjoyable dinner! :-)
Other traveling groups are flexible of course. Eitherway you can expect to be back in Munich by 8 pm (maybe 8:30 if dinning is included).
WHAT TO BRING ALONG:
I assume you are experienced with hikes and know what to take along.
IN CASE BAD WEATHER I'LL POSTPONE / CANCEL.
3-G RULE /COVID:
The hike is in Austria, that means ALL travelers need to show either a negative COVID test or proof of vaccination/past infection upon entry. (You might also want to bring an ID card or equivelant)
STANDARD DISCLAIMER:
Hiking can be dangerous - probably more dangerous than you sitting on your couch. I am not a mountain guide, and everybody joining this hike does this at his own risk.
