Hi all,

While the good weather lasts, let us take this easy and scenic route around Alpsee. I cannot guarantee how good the view of Neuschwanstein Castle is, but from the map it seems it will be pretty close.

The hike is classified as T3, but it is seemingly not so difficult, so beginners above 700 points are welcome, though please make sure you do join the hike once you've registered. Also carry enough water, your hiking boots, cash for the ticket and a friendly attitude.

We'll complete the hike at a relaxed pace - in around 3.5-4 hours. So we'll be done around 2:30PM. We'll try to find a restaurant in Hohenschwangau for lunch after the hike - but you're of course free to bring your own food. Afterwards we'll check out the Hohenschwangau castle from the outside. We should be back in Munich by 6-7PM.

The train + bus journey is very long though (2 hours+!) so we might be playing some card games on the way back.

Good to know
  • We meet at 7:30AM close to the ticket machine in front of platforms 27-36. The train leaves at 7:52AM and we'll get group tickets for the day once everyone assembles, so please don't be late! Also, if you have plans to go back early - please get an individual ticket! 
  • I'll assume awareness of 3G regulations. If you're vaccinated, it's advisable to have the digital certificate on your phone.
  • Also, I'm not a professional organizer, everyone is responsible for themselves.
