Saturday appears to be warm and sunny.. perfect conditions to hike and throw in some ridge crossing as well, because why not. (Komoot link for a better estimate of time and exact route)
WA group link here
Meeting point: Munich HBF, in front of platform 31
Meeting time: Saturday, 07:00-07:05
Schedule: The plan is to take the RE 61 (4871) train at 07:13 to Klais. From there, we take Bus 9608 to the stop "Ortsmitte, Krün", which is the start point of the hike. Estimated arrival time is 08:48, so hiking should start around 09:00.
The end point of the hike is the stop "Isarhorn, Mittenwald", with connections available at every xx:08 and xx:42, with the last bus at 19:08. Depending on the arrival time, we either catch the bus to Klais or Mittenwald and then the train back to Munich.
Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T4 (mostly T3 though). Surefootedness required to traverse the ridge. In general, this is not suitable for beginners, and you should have some fitness to make more than 20km and 1500m gain at a fairly high pace (~450-500hm/hr).
Things to have:
Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
Disclaimer: This hike is not suitable for beginners. I am not a mountain guide and this is not a guided tour. Everybody is responsible for their own actions and decisions. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.
