The weather will be perfect for hiking on this Saturday. So let's take advantage of this and have a great day on the mountains!
This will be a reverse route from Farchant to Ettal instead of Ettal to Farchant. It's just to avoid taking the bus in the morning. We take the RB60 (5512) Vils Stadt train at 08:32 and hope to return by 18:30 (or 19:30 in case we miss the bus) to Munich Hauptbahnhof by taking first the bus and then RB6 (5422) München Hbf train. Please also do check the road yourself.
Make sure you go through the route, read the route description and direction. Also save the gpx file in your navigation device or mobile phone if possible. There is no hut on the way according to the route description and therefore you must bring enough food and drink for the whole day.
This is a T3 level hike with a 1270 meters elevation gain, which means it is definitely not suitable for beginners. Therefore please consider all the risks and responsibilities before joining. It is your own responsibility to complete the hike and it's better if you have some prior hiking experience.
Things to keep in mind without FAIL:
- Getting enough water
- Bringing enough food
- Wearing comfortable hiking clothing
- Cash for the train ticket, around 12-16 Euros depending on the number of participants
- Hiking boots
Disclaimer: Please note I am not a professional hiking organiser. Hence everyone joining this hike is responsible for themselves. Please be prepared to complete the hike as if you are hiking on your own.
