Come join us for a gorgeous ridge walk along the German-Austrian border.
The walk along the ridge is not technical, but there are sections on the way up that would be difficult if you are not used to hiking in the mountains, so it is important that you are comfortable on sections where you may need your hands briefly. Likewise, you should not have issues with light exposure. If anyone has any questions, feel free to drop me a message.
The walk is also relatively long and whilst we won't be going super fast, the last bus home is at 18:47, so we cannot hang around too much. I usually walk relatively fast in the hills, so at least a medium pace would be good. 400m uphill per hour as a rough guide
On the journey out, we will take the BRB to Tegernsee (07:30 to 08:39) then change to the bus to Siebenhütten, Kreuth (08:45 to 09:19).
For the journey back, the buses leave Wildbad Kreuth at:
14:00 (there is no way that we will finish this early)
15:00
15:45
16:00
16:45
17:00
17:45
18:17
18:47 This is the last bus. MISSING THIS BUS IS SIMPLY NOT AN OPTION, sorry...
Make sure that you have:
Food for the day - We do not plan to stop at any huts
Plenty of water - I would recommend taking 2 liters, since there will not be anywhere to fill up en route
Proper hiking boots (trail running shoes are ok if you have experience with them, but absolutely no sneakers/trainers)
Hiking clothes - You don't need to be fully decked out in Ortovox, but please no jeans or similar city clothing
Hiking poles are useful, but not mandatory
Money for the train ticket
