DISCLAIMER: The hike includes T4 trails and via ferrata of grade B with snow. Please don't join if you're a beginner. 

It is time for the Zugspitze hike. We are meeting at the Platform 27 at 5:20 and take the first train to Ehrwald. Please be on time as we only have 10 minutes before the train leaves.

7:30 we start the hike from Ehrwald station, via the Stopselzieher. The route has easy via ferrata (B) but since we will have some snow, it is highly recommended to bring your via ferrata set. This is a long hike so I intend to do a reasonable pace but no running, between 450- 500hm per hour.

The hike is 11,5 hours and we have ~14.5 until the last train. There are trains at 5:48 PM, 7:20 PM, 7:48 PM and 9:52 PM, I guess we should make one of them.

In terms of food and water we are passing the Wiener- Neustätter- Hütte before the Stopselzieher. Münchner Haus on the top is closed till the end of the year. We should stop at Wiener- Neustätter- Hütte to refuel, I suggest you still bring some food and appropriate amount of water (minimum 2-3 L).

Things to bring:

1. Hiking shoes and via ferrata set.

2. Hiking poles (not mandatory, but it always better to have them).

3. Food and water (minimum 2-3L).

4. Proper clothes for hiking (winter jackets etc.).

5. 3G proof and passport for crossing the border.
