This is a 2G event - you must be fully vaccinated or recovered to join.

This is a relatively easy hike with a small T3 section. It is suitable for hikers with some experience, but you do not need to be a pro! Please note the distance and elevation gain and critically assess your abilities. We will be moving at a moderate pace (no speed hiking or running). Good fitness is required. We will take the Bayern Ticket which I will purchase Saturday morning. If you are not present when the ticket is purchased, you will need to buy your own. These trains fill up quickly, so the earlier we get on, the higher our chances of having seats together. Please bring enough food and water for the hike, there is an open hut that we may stop at, but we do need to make it down before nightfall. 

Things to bring:

• proof of vaccination or recovery
• hiking shoes
• food and water (at least 1.5 liter)
• mask for train
• warm clothing
• cash for train ticket (11-16 euros depending on total number) You must bring cash! Most huts also only accept cash
• good energy and good fitness
• headlamp

Optional:

• rain jacket
• hiking poles (it is likely going to be muddy)
• spikes (weather can be unpredictable, I will check the webcam closer to Saturday)

Disclaimer: I am not a guide. Everybody is responsible for themself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download the map, bring a cell phone and a first aid kit for emergencies. Please prepare as if you were hiking alone. Due to limited daylight hours, you must have a headlamp in case of emergency or delays.
