The plan is to go up to Hochgernhaus, and then depending on the weather conditions and group morale try the peak.

Public transport: We will take M79009 departing at 7:56 am, which will arrive Ubersee at 9:02 am. From there we take bus 9509 to Marquartstein Rathaus, arriving there at 9:29 am. This is the start point of our hike, and could be the end point as well, if we come back from Hochgernhaus. However, if we follow the complete route, then our endpoint will be Staudach.

Departure time of return connection: Bus 9505 departs every ~2 hours, with last ones from Marquartstein at 16:25 and 18:30 (or 3 minutes later from Staudach).

Technical difficulty: The hike has difficulty T3 (mostly T2 though). Please read the blog to understand the requirements for sac scale T2/T3. Due to snow, the route will feel more exhausting.

Hochgernhaus is likely open, and we will have lunch there, however please bring enough food/drink for the entire day in order to avoid starvation/dehydration, in case the hut is closed.

Things to bring:

• Waterproof hiking boots
• Cash for the ticket (11 - 16 Euro), and for the food at the hut
• Food/drinks for the way
• Warm clothes
• Gaiters (required)
• Snowshoes or spikes (recommended)
• Headlight (just in case)
• Some tolerance for snowy and rainy weather

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event, when it is starting in less than 12 hours.
