Description

Easy snowshoe hike with beautiful view on the Wetterstein mountains. Medium pace, but not slow.

In case the Eckbauer construction site is blocking the way, we will choose a different path for the descent (e.g. via Wamberg village).

Good to know

Please bring snowshoes! I am not sure the paths have been cleared! Crampons ("Grödeln", "Spikes") may be useful on the way down from Eckbauer.


Please bring enough water and food for the whole day. I am planning to have picnic-style lunch on the way. Please note that Eckbauer restaurant is NOT open! Also, the Eckbauer lift is not running currently. But this may mean less people on this usually very popular mountain.

We will travel on a Werdenfels ticket (10 - 15 € p.p.depending on number of participants - bring money accordingly). Our train is the RE4871 at 07:13 a.m. We will meet at 6:55 at the corresponding platform. Please be on time, otherwise you may need to buy your own ticket. I will wear a red jacket and a grey/black rucksack.

Everyone is joining at his/her own risk. I am not a mountain guide.
