Description
Meeting time: Feb 5th, Saturday 7:50am, München Pasing Platform 4
We buy Bayern group ticket and catch the train towards Kochel at 8:05 from Pasing. We arrive at Kochel at 9:08 and catch 9608 bus to Herzogstandbahn Walchensee, the start point of our hike. We aim to catch the 16:25 or 17:25 train from Ohlstadt back to Munich
please inform in advance if you are not planning to join

Things to bring:
- Cash for the ticket
- Waterproof hiking boot
- gaiters
- spikes
- spare socks
- Passport/Id
- Food/drinks for the way
- Raincoat/winter clothes
- set up .gpx route in gpx viewing app (like openstreetmaps, komoot, GPX viewer etc.)
- See corona regulations - 2g

Hi Noemie,
unfortunately I couldn't get a snow report- from my estimate by the webcam- I think probably there would be 30 cm- 90 cm in some places- which is doable without snow shoes but if you have them- life could be much easier. https://www.bergfex.com/walchensee-herzogstand/schneebericht/

Hi Ming I will join from Hbf since I live on the east side of Munich. My number is +49 15901320272. We could buy the ticket online via the DB navigator app when we meet up. Also the Regio ticket werdenfels is cheaper than the Bayern ticket by 3€

Oh I thought the avalanche risk was closer to the Alps, not the lakes. I took a look and the peak here is over 1500m which says considerable so I guess maybe not tomorrow….

I checked the avalanche risk- which is quite low around Walchensee area - around the <1800 peaks.
