Description
This is a winter hike therefore please bring all necessary equipment (spikes/warm clothes/gloves/hat etc)
we will be in total 5 persons (2 more friends joining who are outside of this group)
Good to know
This is a 3G event so please be either vaccinated or recovered or tested. Please be able to provide the necessary documents at the meeting point.
During the car ride (at least in my car) please wear a FFP2 mask.
we will take the car to drive from Munich to Garmisch where Start and end of the hike will be.

@David: You confirm that spikes are enough for this hike? Or snowshoes are advisable?

Hi Carla, with snowshoes it’s much easier since you won’t sink so much. But if the snow is not powder but a bit harder you will be fine with hiking boots. So yes bring them so you are flexible depending on the snow conditions but I would say it’s not a must.

I wouldnt expect snow shoes are necessary.

Did you eventually rent spikes or snowshoes? I have neither one not the other: I also will have to rent something. I would prefer spikes but I have to check they are enough (depends on snow conditions)

I have rented the snow schoes. The spikes I have bought from before and I would also recommend to buy one. It doent cost too much (I think 20-30€) and they can be handy. To be sure you can rent the Snow shoes. Many Ski shopes can rent it. Still I dont know if we are going to need them or not.

@carla: I highly recommend spikes! It can easily get slippery resulting in dangerous situations. So If it’s is possible definitely bring spikes!

Does anybody have an extra pair of spikes that I could borrow? I usually hike with hiking pole, but its unfortunately broken at the moment :(
