In case you cannot join the hike, please drop out more than 12h before the start.

General information

Photos will be posted on Facebook. You must agree with having photos of you published on social media. 

The route will be shorter than the one shown on the map. Around 3 to 4 km. Elevation gain is identical. 

Meeting point: Katholische Kirche Maria-Hilf https://goo.gl/maps/REvLMAdrpq76VYne7

Starting time: 13h00 precisely. That is the starting time, meaning you'd better arrive at least 5 minutes earlier. I will not be looking at my phone, so please don't send me messages saying you're late. 

Weather: Sunny, some mud. No spikes needed. 

Route: Mostly in the woods, some steep parts, but nothing exposed. A good alternative to Uetliberg.

Pace / fitness level: Open to everyone, it's short.

Transportation: Everyone goes to the meeting point on their own (I'm coming by bike).

Schedule (approximately)

• 13h00: Start hiking.
• 14h30: Top
• 15h30: Finish

Gear

Hiking boots recommended but sneakers are okay.

Important rules about Hiking Buddies

• You have until 12 hours before the start of the event to drop out from the hike.
• Participants not showing up will get a "NO-SHOW" flag on their profile, which decreases significantly your chances to be accepted on future hikes.
• The organizer is no professional guide, participants must be responsible for themselves (and that means to do some research about the routes and its potential dangers / tricky sections to know if you have the experience for it).
• Not a rule, but on your profile, ideally, add a picture of you and select the country you're from (not the one you're living in), to show how international the group is. :)

From 1st January 2022, Hiking Buddies in Zürich having participated to at least two hikes are entitled to borrow for a month Arc'Teryx outdoor gear (see Facebook post).
