Dugi Otok is the seventh largest island in the Adriatic Sea, part of Croatia. It is located off the Dalmatian coast, west of Zadar. It is the largest and westernmost of the Zadarian Islands, and derives its name from its distinctive shape: it is 44.5 km long by 4.8 km wide, I cordially invite you to join me on this sporting trip full of adventure. We meet in Zadar Port Authority and take the ferry boat from Zadar travel the island from South to North. We will stay at a hotel in Zaglav. You can take your car and also your MTB with you (I will also take my kayak boat). We will visit espectacular cliffs, bays, and sea caves, swim at prystine and relax... This is the plan:
Day 1 (Thursday): GOLUBINKA CAVE KAYAKING (booked but you can stay with the group at the beach only 400 m away) - The specialty of this cave is its position over and beneath the sea surface with the entry above it. The largest colony of bats on the island with over 3000 animals is marked to live here, as well as the largest marine sponge’s colony counting 50 different species. Golubinka is the playground of the sea and land, a place where you can step into Had’s lobby and go down to the underwater beach under the lights that break through the cracks in salt and limestone layers. Blue and copper, gold and silver, fireworks on the rocks that are concealed by the narrow and mysterious entrance to the cave – this is the most beautiful secret of Dugi Otok.
Day 3 (Saturday): SWIMMING and Relaxing @ Veli Zal
Beach.
alternatively -> CYCLING - Conquer the island from South to North 50 km on paved road (Please make sure to make your bike reservation if you need one!!). Don't forget your helmet!
Day 4 (Sunday): HEAD BACK to Zadar/Munich
