Description

Hi all!

I'm looking to do a nice "ridge" traverse of these peaks. Would be a pleasure if you would join me :)

Please join this Whatsapp group if you are in the "going" list: Whatsapp group

Technical difficulty: This hike has difficulty T3. The snow is lessening lately, but there will still be plenty of snowy/icy patches. Please make sure you have experience with winter hiking before joining this event and make sure you bring the proper equipment as listed below.

Tempo: We'll be aiming for a moderate/easy tempo (350/400 hm/hour)

Transport & planning:

  • 7:45 - meet up at München Hbf, platform 32 (please let me know beforehand if you join at another station)
  • 9:09 - arrival at Tegernsee
  • 9:21 - bus to Kistenwinterstube, Rottach-Egern
  • 9:50 - start hiking
  • 12:00 - lunch stop 1
  • 14:30 - lunch/drink stop 2
  • 17:17 - bus at Wallbergbahn, Rottach-Egern (Note: this is the last bus going from this station. There are others further in town, but i prefer to catch this one.)

Lunch: We will have a short stop at Blankenstein or at the summit of Risserkogel if the wind permits (around 12:00), and another short stop in the area of the Wallberg Panorama restaurant. Please note: We will NOT spend a lot of time at the restaurant due to the time constraints with the bus back. Don't count on ordering food, so make sure you bring enough lunch/snacks.

Things to bring:

  • Waterproof hiking boots
  • Spikes (highly recommended/mandatory)
  • Gaiters (optional)
  • Headlamp
  • Hiking poles (optional)
  • Cash for the Bayern ticket/ a drink at the restaurant if we have time
  • Food/drinks
  • Warm clothes, it might be windy

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download the .gpx route, bring a cell phone and a first aid kit for emergencies.
