This hike is an independent part (2) of a four-day Easter trip to Berchtesgaden/Königssee.
- join us for any subset on the days (there will be a day 4 too - with a surprise route;)
- book accommodation and travel on your own/arrange with other participants
- the best overnight base would be town Schönau am Königssee (several of us will stay in Hotel Bergheimat)
From Katie: “Spring is is a very special time in the mountains. The region is not my “home” hiking grounds and the tour will be very explorative, fun and adventurous”
Travel & accommodation: The host does not (like "not at all" ;) arrange travel or accommodation. Here is a whatsup group where you can arrange it together with other participants: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Hz3xuyp5bRJ3Fqed8eVcWc
Meeting time and place: 10am at Königsee Seelände - we are taking a boat there;)
Some strong recommendations ;)
- It will be a tour of challenging hikes requiring strong physical fitness, cheerful attitude to obstacles and having fun in the nature.
- Good hiking boots, hopefully waterproof and with a good rubber profile, are extremely helpful as it is likely to get wet and slippery.
- At this time of the year, spikes (see picture) make your hike more much safe, fun and mobile.
- Dressing in layers, so that you can take a layer (e.g. a pullover) on/off is also recommended as getting up a mountain is always warm, but up there and getting down often gets chilly.
- For this adventure I also recommend bringing a change of (old sport) shoes - for the unhappy case that you and your favourite hiking boots “have a fight”;)
- A good breakfast always makes your experience particularly nice;) but don't forget some snacks and water to keep you supplied until we reach an alm.
