General information

Meeting point: Near the bench at the start of the trail. G Maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/H3gcA5fxGHfBEjnu6

Starting time: 18h20. That is the starting time (sharp), meaning you'd better arrive at least 5 minutes earlier. I MIGHT CHANGE THE TIME DURING THE NIGHT BEFORE, CHECK AGAIN ON MONDAY MORNING.

Pace / fitness level: I plan on reaching the top in max. 30 minutes, take a group picture, and go down immediately. That's a 600m elevation gain / hour pace, which is reachable if you do cardio sports on a regular basis. Should you not be able to maintain that pace, you may have to do the hike on your own - make sure you're able to navigate by yourself in the woods. I encourage everyone to give it a try and do your best! This is a good chance for you to know what your pace is (I generally ask for a minimum pace of 500m gain / hour on my day hikes).

Weather: Muddy trails. 10+ degrees, not icy.

Route: T2 (if you see more than T2 on the website, it's an error). Way up is steep and through the woods. Way down is the main road.

Transportation: You go to the starting point by your own means. A parking is available (not free).

Note: On your profile, ideally add a picture of you and select the country you're from (not the one you're living in), to show how international the group is. :)

Gear

Mandatory: Trail running shoes (ideally) or hiking shoes. Headlamp not required. Spikes not required.

Important rules about Hiking Buddies

  • You have until 12 hours before the start of the event to drop out from the hike.
  • Participants not showing up will get a "NO-SHOW" flag on their profile, which decreases significantly your chances to be accepted on future hikes.
  • The organizer is no professional guide, participants must be responsible for themselves (and that means to do some research about the routes and its potential dangers / tricky sections to know if you have the experience for it).
