Description

Not beginner-friendly

With this hike, I start exploring 2000m - 3000m Peaks :) 

Meeting time:  Saturday 7th May, 08:05; HBf Platform 20

We buy the Bayern ticket and catch the train towards München-Pasing - Oberau at 8:25


Things to bring:

  • Cash/Paypal for the ticket
  • Waterproof hiking boot/ snow shoes
  • gaiters
  • spikes/crampons
  • spare socks
  • Passport/Id
  • Food/drinks for the way
  • Raincoat/winter clothes
  • set up .gpx route in gpx viewing app (like openstreetmaps, komoot, GPX viewer etc.)
  • See corona regulations
Good to know

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.

Be careful in the upper part of the descent. The path is not that visible, grassy, friable and you need to explore for the right way. If there is snow I would suggest to find another way down. Did it last year after rain and it was tricky.

I see the descent is through the north-facing side of the mountain. High possibly of ice and slippery rocks.

As it is sometimes easy going up than going down. We might do this hike in reverse. First hit the T4 and get easy with the rest of the path :)

Going down Bischof is already tricky without the snow. Try to find the steinmandl to keep you in the route through the gravel. With the snow this is a bad idea, especially with such a big group.
