starts at 11:30 at Kaltenbrunn pier in Gmund (train from Munich Hbf at 9:30, arriving at Gmund at 11:00) where at 11:30(!) we take the boat to Rothach-Egern (don't forget cash, rd. EUR 13),
continues with the ascend of the beautiful Wallberg and a late lunch in a cozy alm at the top (https://wallberg-haus.de/)
on Sunday we continue down the other side of Wallberg into the Rottach valley and via the Höhenweg back to Tegernsee
Some strong recommendations ;)
It’s a challenging hike requiring strong physical fitness, cheerful attitude to obstacles and having fun in the nature.
Good hiking boots with a good rubber profile, are extremely helpful as it can get wet and slippery.
Dressing in layers, so that you can take a layer (e.g. a pullover) on/off is also recommended as getting up a mountain is always warm, but up there and getting down often gets chilly.
A good breakfast makes your experience particularly nice;) but don't forget some snacks and water to keep you supplied until we reach an alm.
Disclaimer:
Hiking can be dangerous.
This hike is not led by a professional mountain guide. Here individuals gather for outdoor sport activities.
Each participant is responsible for his/her own safety, has to be prepared, bring suitable equipment and ensure meeting the physical requirements.
Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements, download a map, bring a cell phone and a first aid kit for emergencies if needed.
I suppose Fred was referring to
> Private* events are strongly discouraged (not forbidden... yet), as I consider them against the initial spirit of Hiking Buddies.
Don't worry about it. It's not forbidden (yet) ;)
But if we have too many "tracking" events it could potentially be spam as Ioannis mentioned above. Welcome to HBM and forgive the directness of our veterans as a cultural thing :)
You know guys, I am very new on this platform (but have organised a number of nice events already) and definitely want to learn from the more experienced members and want to play by the rules, but am very much discouraged by this kind of attitude / address:( Sooo, in case you care about softies like me, please try to put your totally valid content into a little more friendly form;) We are all here for the good feeling of belonging to a great community, right
