Description

Signup is open. Signup opens on Thursday 18:00 if the weather forecast is good.

We'll summit the highest of peaks of Lattengebirge, located between Bad Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden, north of the Watzmann and Hochkalter mountain ranges. On the way we visit the famous rock formations Steinerne Agnes and Schlafende Hexe, and have excellent views of the two mountain ranges when traversing the Lattengebirge ridge.
We will have a break at Schlegelmulde Alm.

Note: 9:00 is the beginning of the hike, not the meeting time for the carpool!

Technical Difficulty: This hike is NOT suitable for beginners. You should be surefooted and have no fear of heights. You should have experience with UIAA I scrambling, and not be slow (>=500m gain/hour), have good stamina and walking speed of > 5,5km/h in the flat parts. The optional Mittlerer Rotofen peak require some scrambling.

Weather forecast  sunny, dry and warm

Transport: We will go by car as the starting point is not easily accessible by public transport. We'll share the car expenses. The driver(s) may require passengers to pay in advance. Drivers should check whether all passenger fulfil the mandatory conditions (see below) and reject those who don't. Please read the car instructions carefully. If the hike or lift is cancelled or postponed, the drivers must reimburse the prepaid payments. Otherwise a passenger dropping out before departure must only be reimbursed if the driver can find a replacement. Car drivers must contact me first if they drop out.

Joining: Click on carpool. If a car has free seats, read the instructions and possibly join the car. Otherwise add yourself to the waiting list and regularly check for free seats. You are not automatically assigned to a car.

Legal disclaimer: This is not a guided tour. I merely organize the trip to the starting point with like-minded, qualified, properly equipped and reliable persons. Every participant must be able to navigate her/himself on the suggested route. If you join, you acknowledge that hiking is dangerous, you are fully responsible for yourself and that you have sufficient insurance (DAV, Bergrettung or similar).

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't want to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours. No-shows will be recorded in your profile.
