Description

Not beginner-friendly

The event will be postponed/preponed if the climate is not nice 

We can decrease the route length by 3-4 km :)

Meeting time:  Sunday 15th May, 08:35; HBf Platform 9

We buy the Bayern ticket and catch the train towards Prien a Chiemsee - Aschau(Chiemgau) at 8:56


Things to bring:

  • Cash/Paypal for the ticket
  • Waterproof hiking boot/ snow shoes
  • spikes (optional)
  • spare socks
  • Passport/Id
  • Food/drinks for the way
  • Raincoat/winter clothes
  • set up .gpx route in gpx viewing app (like openstreetmaps, komoot, GPX viewer etc.)
  • See corona regulations
Good to know

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't plan to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours.

Disclaimer: Hiking can be dangerous. I am not a mountain guide. Everybody is responsible for her/himself. Make yourself familiar with the route and its requirements. It's recommended to download a map and bring a cell phone and first aid kit for emergencies.

As the original route required climbing, I did some minor changes to the route. FYI - GPX file is updated.

Hi—just wanted to make sure the times are correct, as the meetup time is stated 6:35 but the train leaves at 8:56? I mean, I’m totally supportive of people arriving more than 2 hours early but I‘d plan on arriving at 8:30 myself...

Hey Lakshaya, as I come from Landshut it would be convenient for me to buy the Bayern Ticket from Landshut and travel to Munich. I can buy the Bayern Ticket for 5 people in total and 4 others can join me from Munich. So if nothing has been planned yet regarding who buys the Bayern Ticket, would it be ok if I buy one Bayern Ticket for 5 people? Please do let me know . Cheers, Praveen
