Description:

26 - 29 Mai 2022 – Lake Garda, Italy

Participating in a via ferrata at Lake Garda is one of the best ways to discover the beautiful landscapes and the breathtaking views of this region in Northern Italy. Via Ferrata is a mix of hiking, trekking and rock climbing, where you will follow pre-constructed mountain paths.

We take the opportunity of four free days between 26 and 29 Mai to try this fantastic experience of climbing in the lake Garda area. All you need to do is to take one day holiday on 27 Mai, beacuse 28 Mai is in Bavaria free of work. In plan there are two via ferratas with difficulty B (MONTE COLODRI, FAUSTO SUSATTI) and two hikes or one more via ferrata depending on our phisical fitness. Both via ferrata are beginners friendly, so if you don’t have any experience in climbing, it is a good opportunity to getting in.

What to bring:

    • good mood

    • a pair of solid hiking boots

    • climbing harness

    • via ferrata set

    • helmet - is protecting you from unleashed stones

    • sling - a sling with an extra carabiner has proven extremely useful. If there is a “traffic tie-up” or you need to pause just use the sling and the carabiner to take a seat in your harness for a little while – or take amazing pictures using both hands

    • gloves - they will protect your hands from sharp rocks and tiny wire filaments which are sometimes sticking out of the main wire rope

    • water or better a backpack with a drinking system - you can climb freely and stay hydrated without being bothered by opening and closing your backpack all the time

    • sun cream – via ferrata is mostly exposed on the sun

    • good to have a DAV insurance

If you don’t have any via ferrata equipment:

You can borrow complete via ferrata kit composed of helmet, via ferrata set and harness in DAV section in Munic or local in Arco in Italy with earlier online reservation ( 15€ / day )

Accomodation:

Two appartements are booked, so we go for 10 persons, we are already 3/4 full but we can extend and book additional appartements if needed.

Costs:

Accomodation for 3 nights – 116€/person

Fuel and vignette – approximately- 35€/person

Food – we can preapare in appartments and participate in costs of shopping.

Via ferratas:

VIA FERRATA MONTE COLODRI – Arco

Duration of entire tour: 2,5 hours

Difficulty: B ( beginners friendly)

The Colodri via ferrata is one of the easiest iron paths you can find in the Lake Garda region and a perfect solutions for beginners. The excursion starts in Arco, on the north of Lake Garda, and leads through the wall of Colodri. The via ferrata consists of four easy climbing parts that will get you up to the peak of Mount Colodri where you’ll find its symbolic cross and the Madonnina. Take a break after your efforts and enjoy the stunning view over Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains.

VIA FERRATA FAUSTO SUSATTI – Cima Capi

Duration of entire tour: 6 hours

Difficulty: B ( beginners friendly)

Cima Capi (909m) forms part of the Garda/Brescia Prealps and is to be found in the North East part of Lake Garda. The via ferrata is well equipped having been totally renovated in 2009.

The via ferrata F.Susatti that leads to Cima Capi mostly follows the edge of the ridge, it’s very very scenic and for sure it won’t leave you indifferent.

Suitable for those who wish to have a go at a via ferrata but, bearing in mind its length and character, this one is for people who are fairly fit. Experts in via ferrata however, notwithstanding the relatively easy route, will find satisfaction in the amazing views over Lake Garda.

This 6 hours Via Ferrata at Lake Garda will definitely test your climbing techniques! It is safe to say that this is one of the most gratifying via ferrata routes around the lake as you coordinate your movements on the vertical walls of Cima Capi (909 meters), high above Lake Garda.
