REQUIREMENTS
- You must be a fit hiker. It’s
a beginner via ferrata but you must have hiking experience.
- You must have DAV membership / Insurance for mountains.
- You must have a via ferrata kit: harness, via ferrata set, helmet, gloves. It’s
not the same as bouldering gear.
- You must wear proper hiking shoes. We will have to go through your gear at
HbH because participants sometimes come without proper gear which we only find
out too late and it causes problems for the whole team.
- You must not have issue with height.
- You must be willing to be at the designated meeting point on time and not last minute
because we will check if you have the required equipment.
- You understand that we are traveling together following a program as a team
by train. If you have other plans, this event is not suitable for you. I don't accept
anyone coming by car as this is not a carpool event. Participants coming by car
tend to be late which causes delay for the others.
- You are expected to check the route (links provided) and decide on your
own responsibility that you can manage this hike including via ferrata. I also
provided videos about how to put on the via ferrata set and how to use it.
- You understand that I’m not a mountain guide.

Those who want to join the event, has to come by train and follow the program. If you are not ok with that, please feel free to organize your event. We are a group and it’s better to travel together. Last time, we had to wait 30 minutes for the one girl who came by car. Clicking on attending the event means that you accept the program. Sorry, but participants making such changes normally create a mess for the whole group. That’s my experience as an organizer. So, I don’t accept participants coming by car.

Hey Diana, dont want to be policing your event. I still want to add a word of caution. Your Event says it is Beginner Friendly which is a slight overstatement. It is beginner friendly Via Ferrata yes but only for those who are already fit enough and have done T4 and T5 Hikes in the past and who are ready to give an Easy Via Ferrata a try. Categorizing the Event as Beginner friendly would probably lead to you ending up with people who have absolutely no idea about the rout and its difficulty because all they see is "Beginner Friendly". The Route is easy but steep which requires fitness, also at some places it is exposed which gives no room for people with fear of heights. The way back needs some scrambling and also climbing down backwards.

Hi Praveen, I'm organizing this event for mature adults. All the necessary links are in the event desciption. I expect you to check it yourself as I'm nobody's mommy. You must check the route yourself and decide if you can do it or not. It's a beginner level via ferrata that requires basic fitness. If you don't even have basic fitness level. Those without basic fitness level should not come. "also at some places it is exposed which gives no room for people with fear of heights." - It's written in the requirememts that you "You must not have issue with height". Please read the event description before commenting. And again, I'm nobody's mom.

Diana, you're nobody's mom but may be the most experienced person in a group of beginners. If something happens, you'd be legally responsible. So, better be grateful for such comments instead of being pissed. Have fun tomorrow, cheers :)

Why would I be legally responsible for it? As stated I’m not responsible anyone. There are a lot of links provided for the event including videos and articles. The description is quite detailed. If he is so experienced why he is writing outdated information in the comment? The cable car is open and the via ferrata route as well. And I was was checking the participants constantly and I will check them also at Hauptbahnhof making sure that they are all experienced enough. If not, I’ll kindly ask them not to come.

That's the way the law works in Germany, disclaimer on your description don't have any value, even though many people do that. The rule is simple, in case of a problem, "the most experienced person of the group is responsible". If you search on the HBM Facebook group about legal responsibility, you'll find some stuff about it, it has been discussed a few times. But no worries, nothing bad really happened in 8 years, that's just FYI.

Also, if you say beginner friendly you need to give instructions on how to use the harness and what the harness is actually capable of doing. Well All these things wont be a problem if you are a mountain guide.
Alpspitze Bahn is closed due to construction activity. Please check if it is in service now. It was closed last week.

Hi Praveen, Using teh harness is really not rocket since. 6 years old children can learn it in 60 seconds. I'm not a mountain guide and if you expect a mountain guide, please kindly refrain yourself from participating this event. Yes, the Alpspitzebahn is closed. It's stated on the website you linked here. It is closed until 30. Juni 2022 but our event is in July and hopefully it will be open in July as planned.
