Description
Bring waterproof gear, it is unpredictable but it might be rainy, specially after midday.
One of several ways of hiking up Jägerkamp und Aiplspitz. This direction has the difficult part on the way up, and the way down to Geitau is longer but more gentle, plus we can jump on a direct train once in Geitau. The route reaching Aiplspitz is quite rocky and at one spot secured by a rope. It does not make a difficult climb, but it is certainly not for people with a fear of heights! (I might be the only one struggling, we shall see).
We can also adapt the route on the way, depending on how we assess terrain and weather.
- Train from Munich Hbf at 7:30, direction Fischhausen/Neuhaus where we take Bus 9562 to Spitzingsattel.
- Spitzingsattel (~1120 m) - Jägerkamp (1746 m) - Aiplspitze (1759 m) - Geitau (~800m).
- 1h30-2h00 to Jägerkapm / 0h45-1h15 to Aiplspitze /1h45-2h15 to Geitau
- Hike starts approx. a 9:00. I think we need between 4h00 and 5h30 + breaks.
- Trains from Geitau to München, 14:09, 15:09, 16:09...

Good to know
Tour not suitable for people with a fear of heights and not recommended for those with little experience in hiking
Things to bring:
- hiking shoes
- hiking poles
- food and water for the day
- mask for train
- 9€ ticket
- sun glasses + sunscreen
- waterproof gear
- DAV membership card (if you own one)

I checked the weather forecast. it says lots of rain after 12

It does look unstable after noon. My suggestion is to start with Jägerkamp, and if we see the weather looks bad we can change plans. I would like to avoid Aiplspitze if it is too wet. We can find alternative routes down either to Geitau, to Spitzingsee, or back to Spitzinseesattel.
