This is
a 3-day course in English given by Christoph Garber (professional mountain
guide) & his team, in collaboration with Arc'Teryx. Participants will learn
important knowledge & skills for high alpine tours (Hochtouren)
on glacier environments. Read the entire description before joining the event.
Who should attend this course?
We have limited spots (8 for Zürich, 8 for Munich). You need advanced hiking experience and must be willing to start high alpine tours in the near future. You may have already done a similar course some time ago, and want to refresh your skills, in which case you're more than welcome.
Criteria for attending the course
Day 1 - Hike to Wiesbadener Hütte and basic learnings
We meet at 12:00 at Parkplatz Silvretta Stausee, where we get

the hut, we get to know all the gear we use and important knots, some weather
and glacier science. You can also prepare questions you want to ask
to our two guides.
Day 2 - Training & practicing near the hut
We will stay around the hut, where we'll pratice abseiling,
crevasse rescue techniques, and learn how to organise a rope team on glaciers and
ridge-climbs. We may do a peak on that day - to be agreed depending on weather.
Day 3 - Silvrettahorn (3244m) or (Dreiländerspitze 3197m)
Touring day to the Silvrettahorn 3244m or Dreiländerspitze 3197m
