Description

Meeting point: Munich HbF, Platform 27-36.

Departure: 7:30, BRB RB56
Arrival: Late afternoon.

Things to bring:

  • Hiking shoes.
  • 9 euro ticket. :))
  • Passport/Id.
  • Water and snacks for the whole day (you can refill your bottle with the tasty water at the hut).
  • Hiking poles (optional).
  • Raincoat & hiking clothes (strongly recommended tomorrow).
  • Download.gpx file in advance and ready with import to your tracking app/’s. Example gpx viewer.

The route is fit-beginner-friendly. It's rather a fast hike due to its easy profile. I chose this sooner beginning just because of the weather. We should finish the hike around 3 pm at the latest if we are unexpectedly slow. The ascend is muddy, take it into account while choosing your shoes. ;)

I expect a reasonable level of fitness so that we are not unnecessarily slow. You are ideally able to keep ~400 hm/h (sort of comfortable cardio tempo if you are trained enough) with ease, you could suffer with me otherwise. :D

There is a hut on the route, but we will reach that relatively soon, around 11 am. Therefore, I would expect to have a beer and/or food on the way back in one of the great Biergartens in Lenggries if we want. :))

WEATHER!!! Be aware that rain is expected in the afternoon. The route is safe even in challenging weather conditions though. If the conditions are bad, there are a few possibilities of shortening. Do not forget waterproof clothes!

Good to know

Disclaimer: Like any other adventure tour, going to the mountains is always risky; sometimes it might be life-threatening! Attendees are advised to read the full description, look into the route details and familiarise themselves to the point that they are going to hike on their own.

If there is any unwanted and unfortunate incident happens, they are at this moment informed that they have to pay by themselves if the rescue team needs to be called (average cost 3,000 Euro). We are certainly not official guides, so it is not a guided tour. The organizer is only responsible for taking care of the meeting and sharing the travel cost, nothing else.
