Description

The hike to the Steinkarkopf (1981m) is a real highlight in the western Karwendel! Unspoiled nature and beautifully laid-out paths lead via the cosy Hochlandhütte to the Wörnersattel and finally to the Steinkarkopf, which is rich in views. The descent via the Rehbergalm is also delightful throughout and always offers new views of this wonderful part of Bavaria! Tour tip for fit hikers above the roofs of Mittenwald!

Weather Forecast looks as well good on Saturday in that area, so maybe, only as suggestion , we can refresh/swim after the hike at Walchensee.

Type: Demanding mountain hike

Meters in altitude: 1100 m ascent and descent

Walking time: Ascent approx. 4:00h, descent approx. 2:30h

Fitness: High demands; only recommended for endurance athletes.

Technique: Little used paths and steep tracks, which are well marked. Short exposed sections, surefootedness & head for heights necessary.
