Description

Let's go to Northtirol's "Dolomites" near Kemater Alm south of Innsbruck, where the weather is supposed to be sunny on Saturday. This hike continues last years' amazing Kalkkögel traverse. We'll summit the highest peak of the Kalkkögel (Schlicker Seespitze, optional), the panoramic summit Schwarzhorn and many other peaks on the ridge.

We might meet Marco's group at Kemater Alm for dinner.

This hike is only sponsored by the sun ;-)

Note: 9:30 is the beginning of the hike, not the meeting time for the carpool!

Technical Difficulty: This hike is NOT suitable for beginners, but for experienced hikers, who have done similarly difficult hikes before. You have to be absolutely surefooted and no fear of heights. You should have experience with UIAA I scrambling, above average pace (>500m gain/hour) and very good stamina, and walking speed of about 6km/h in the flat parts.

Weather forecast  dry and sunny

Transport: We will go by car as the starting point is not easily accessible by public transport. We'll share the car expenses (no vignette required). The driver(s) may require passengers to pay in advance.  Please read the car instructions carefully. If the hike or lift is cancelled or postponed, the drivers must reimburse the prepaid payments. Otherwise a passenger dropping out before departure must only be reimbursed if the driver can find a replacement. Car drivers must contact me first if they drop out.

Drivers: Drivers should check whether all passenger fulfil the mandatory conditions (see below) and reject those who don't. There's a toll road (5€/car) to Kemater Alm. Due to high expected traffic on Sat the route via Lenggries/Sylvensteinspeicher/Mittenwald is probably the fastest one (5€ toll fee).

Joining: Click on carpool. If a car has free seats, read the instructions and possibly join the car. Otherwise add yourself to the waiting list and regularly check for free seats. You are not automatically assigned to a car.

Legal disclaimer: This is not a guided tour. I merely organize the trip to the starting point with like-minded, qualified, properly equipped and reliable persons. Every participant must be able to navigate her/himself on the suggested route. If you join, you acknowledge that hiking is dangerous, you are fully responsible for yourself and that you have sufficient insurance (DAV, Bergrettung or similar).

Note: Please unjoin the event well in advance, if you don't want to come. You cannot unjoin the event when it is starting in less than 12 hours. No-shows will be recorded in your profile.
