Description
Hi,
We are planning to do the Watzmannüberschreitung. I have booked 4 spots at the Watzmannhaus on Saturday, 25th June.
We would be hiking up to the Watzmannhaus (3h) on Saturday and spend the night on the hut. On Sunday morning we will do the actual tour. Please be aware that this tour is only for very experienced hiker. You will need proper via ferrata equiment as well. Very good stamina and endurance is required. The tour is long, highly exposed and there is the risk of fall hazards.
Since this is a very difficult tour I´ll have a quick chat with the people that would like to join.

There is no via ferrata! You should bring a helmet

It is dangerous and reckless to give such advice in a public forum where people might look later for reference of the same tour. The tour has, as explained on different topos and descriptions some via ferrata ropes installed. It is useful to take all via ferrata equipment with you.

quite the contrary, it is dangerous to give inexperienced hikers false hope of a via ferrata, when they find only a "teilweise versicherten Steig", which is only for hikers who feel comfortable with exposed, unsecured scrambling. That is what the description clearly stated, including three references. I´ve just done it. The equipment should be with you, leaving it at home and/or suggesting people should is simply wrong.

just found this spot by making another one nearby. please be aware that Watzmannüberschreitung is not fully secured as ferrata, some peaces you need to go "free solo". it's technically easy but it's high so really think twice what are you going to do. it's not a hiking tour, it's a climbing tour.
