Description

This is one of the most popular hikes in Switzerland. Five crystal clear mountain lakes and glimpses of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sardona characterize this route. Amazing views, if the weather is good. Total distance: approx  11 km, duration: 4-5 hours, difficulty level: medium (perhaps T2) - as per latest info from the tourist office (26 June), this hike is not suitable for unexperienced people. Until you have done a few T2 or higher grade hikes (should be visible in your profile), please do not join this. 

Meeting point: gondola valley stations, Wangs (NOT Munich). Without car, I can not think of any other easy way to come to this place from Munich. If you can come to Lindau, I can accompany you in my car (max. 2 persona can come in my car, travel cost to be shared @0.25 Euro/ km)

The route for the hike (the route opens on 2nd July for 2022):

  • Wangs to Pizolhütte (2227 m) by cable car (44 CHF flexible return ticket). Yes this hike start from the summit already :P
  • Walk to Wangsersee - Pizolhütte - Wildseeluggen - Schottensee - Schwarzsee - Baseggla - Baschalvasee - Gaffia
  • Gaffia to Wangs return by cablecar. Last descent from Gaffia chairlift at 16:30.

Hi , i do not see a Join Event button on this new page. Is there someone starting from Switzerland with car ? Otherwise my only option is to come via train from Heerbrugg ,SG.

For those, who wish to travel to by public transport., there is train connection from Munich to St. Margrethen and then St. Margrethen to Sargans. From Sargans HBF, talstation is some 2.5 km by walk (there might be village busses too but I can not confirm this).
